Kinsale Candles

While the company is renowned for its shoe care products, Punch has developed a wider portfolio of interests. Punch Industries purchased Edward Ryan & Co in 1977, a manufacturer of soaps, detergents and candles dating back to the 1700’s and based in Kinsale, County Cork in Ireland.

In November 2002, a new purpose built candle-making factory in Kinsale, Co. Cork was officially opened, representing a multi-million euro investment by the company. It is the largest manufacturer of candles in Ireland and the Kinsale Candles brand is the No. 1 Irish grocery candle brand. It has recently received ISO accreditation and is the only Irish candle-making facility to do so.

In October 2003, Kinsale Candles secured distribution in key international markets, for its range of Irish-made scented and gift candles.

The manufacturing facilities at these premises include:

Candle Making:

Filling, pressing and moulding of wax, gels, scented and unscented.
Packing into various packaging formats.

Well worth a visit is the new Kinsale Candles Factory Shop, which opened in December 2003 in a purpose built shop at the factory. Here we sell a wide range of our candles at great value factory prices.
