16.02.04 Punch Hits a Double at All-Island Awards
Punch Industries was named the overall winner of the 2003 All-Island Innovation Awards in addition to winning the Large Business category. It won for its “Keep it White” in-wash sheet product, which helps prevents whites going grey in the washing machine. Pictured with the trophies are (from left:) Pat McNamee, head of research and development and Gerry Lawlor, chief executive.

Based in Cork, the 153 year old consumer products company produces and markets a wide range of shoecare, fabric care and homecare products to over 50 countries worldwide.

Keep it White follows on from its sister brand Colour Catcher, which prevents colour runs in the washing machine, and is proving to be an outstanding success worldwide.

In making their assessment, the judges were looking for uniqueness of innovation, if it contributed to further ideas, how the company protects its inventions and a strong commercial approach.

Commented Punch Industries chief executive Gerry Lawlor, “We’re delighted that the judges found the Award criteria very much in evidence at Punch Industries and decided to recognise the hard work and dedication of the company’s management and staff accordingly.”
